Echo of my breath swallowed the silence of night,
As I stood by the window,
Carrying the shattered pieces of my heart,
Wishing you were by my side.

I stare at the street lamp,
under which we first met.
And created memories,
hard to forget.
Today again it stands still,
but brightness dimmed,
By the darkness in my life,
that you left behind.

So I close the window to cut the view,
of the street lamp,
that reminds me of you.
But now I catch myself staring,
at my hands,
that once held yours.
Fingers inter wined,
And everything was perfectly fine.
Best thing about me was always you.

Those smiles, those blushes, those lingering feelings,
have now faded forever.
I am all alone,
left with a wounded heart,
that still needs healing.

Every time I keep missing you like a freak.
Without you, I feel suffocating,
In a life so colourless and bleak.
Storm of emotions keep whirling inside,
but my numb heart only cries.
Blinking back tears,
Struggling to stay strong.
I thought you were mine,
But I know,
I was always wrong.
