Scribbles On My Heart

I saw the sunset right before my eyes, I bid it farewell Begging it to bring new hope, When again it will rise. The cool breeze played with my hair, As I sat by the sea, Lost in the symphony of my guitar. Trying to find a way to escape from despair. My fingers ran over the chord so cold, But the music was warm. And my lips curved into a smile, I could barely hold. Slowly the orange light turned into blackish brown, The darkness crept in. But I didn't cringe. Coz the sun in my eyes and the sun in my heart, They never went down. The dusk I saw was now dawn, And I guess I know Waves come and go, Washing away my pain and the thoughts unknown.

I remember being abandoned in a dark alley, I was lost and cried for help but no one turned up. I could hear the echo of past mocking at me, "Serves you right",it said and I shivered. The freezing wind chilled my heart. I thought that I would never see the light again. I waited, for my life to be engulfed by darkness. And giving up I closed my eyes. But something radiated warmth to my chilled heart. It was a firefly, Its glow painted the dark in gold. I wanted it to stay by my side, so I kept following it. Little did I know that it was guiding my way out. Darkness started to disappear as the dawn approached. But I did not care to look back, Coz my eyes were fixed on this tiny heartwarming creature. The sun owed its radiance. Then, I saw it fly to the sky. I waved it goodbye with a genuine smile. It gave me a reason to move on, a reason to live. Coz I wanna meet it again. I couldn't thank it back then, But now...
